Principal tuba of the Royal Danish Orchestra
Lars Holmgaard has been principal tubist in the Royal Danish Orchestra since 1989. He has performed as a soloist in Denmark and England and has recorded with the Royal Danish Orchestra and the Royal Danish Brass.
Born 1964 in Holstebro, Denmark, his studies became serious when joining the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus. Following a year at the National Centre for Orchestral Studies in London, Lars Holmgaard finished his studies at the Royal Academy of Music, Copenhagen, in 1989.
Lars Holmgaard
har været solotubaist i Det Kongelige Kapel siden 1989. Han har optrådt som solist i Danmark og England og han har indspillet med Det Kongelige Kapel og Royal Danish Brass.
Han er født i Holstebro og hans tubaspil blev "for alvor" da han blev optaget på Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium i Århus. Senere fulgte et års studier i London på National Centre for Orchestral Studies.
